The league was formed in 1993 as the Nassagaweya Men’s Masters Slo-Pitch League, a division of the Nassagaweya Slo-Pitch League for men 35 years and older. Both leagues were overseen by then President, Rick Matchett, who was supported by Roy Bosch, the first VP/Masters President.

The league originally consisted of 5 teams named after US college teams … “Gators”, “Buckeyes”, “Blue Devils”, “Razor Backs” and “Mustangs”. The first sponsor in 1994 was Rideout Auto Parts. Other early Sponsors included Bell Canada, Miltowne Collision and Moffat Scrap Iron which still sponsors today.

The league name was subsequently simplified and changed its name to the Brookville Masters Slo-Pitch League in 2000. The age restriction was also subsequently changed to 30 to attract new players.

BMSPL continues today 20 years strong and counting. We continue to cherish the great memories formed on and around the diamond. If you have photos old or new you’d like to share, we’d love to post them here on the site. Please contact a member of the league executive.
